Abstract: This paper introduces a method for interpolating oblique non-degenerate sequences of points through the use of specific cubic BézIER curves (splines), resulting in a global curve that also preserves its obliquity. The interpolation technique employs two-dimensional BézIER curves that are designed to be either convex or mono-inflective. These curves ensure that their scalar functions remain monotonic, thereby maintaining the obliquity, convexity, and any inflections present in the sequence being interpolated. Furthermore, this approach can be extended to interpolate any sequence of points using oblique two-dimensional convex and mono-inflective curves, not limited to just oblique non-degenerate sequences. |
